Bamboo: new booklet

November 8, 2012New art work

I was able to finish a new book for the Brooklyn fest this weekend. I was inspired to do a smaller and simpler book. It’s 24 pages long, and 2.5 x 5.5 inches long, and uses 3 colors (as opposed to my usual 6 colors). It has a story with an environmental theme, humans cutting … Read More

Chimp pillow

October 25, 2012New art work

My latest sewing creation: the chimp pillow. You get two chimps one one pillow for variety. The poses were sort of inspired from Bruce Lee. I a perfect world, I would put an audio device in the pillow that made sound whenever you punched the pillow, but right now it’s not feasible financially.

More dinosaur product

October 11, 2012New art work

Continuing my quest to have a wider range of products, I decided to print my popular t-rex design on fabric which I then sewed to make cushions and bags. Everybody’s been telling me I should print on tote bags, but I personally don’t like tote bags. I do like backpacks though, and this design is … Read More

New book: the Ordovician and the Silurian

September 24, 2012New art work

Sorry about the crummy pictures…I really wish my DSLR camera hadn’t been broken by a certain someone who shall remain nameless. I’m stuck with a point and shoot for the long haul. Anyway… Back from a long hiatus, here is my newest book “The Ordovician and the Silurian”. It’s a long title, but I have … Read More

Book of etchings

August 14, 2012New art work

Here’s an accordion book of the etchings I’ve been doing. To reiterate, I’ve been doing etchings of the dioramas at the Museum of Natural History. The book has 8 etchings. which uses a mixture of hardground and aquatint.. I only have 6 copies of the book, so it’s the most expensive book I’ve ever made … Read More

My first sewing project

August 14, 2012New art work

I got a sewing machine 4 years ago, which I never used. I also have a lot of stuffing that’s just been sitting in a closet. Since I saw people (really Shannon, who does pillows) at the SVA printshop printing on fabric, I was inspired to try the same. This is the first time I’ve … Read More

Gorilla monoprint

August 10, 2012New art work

For my second monoprint, I did a gorilla. I drew it from memory, which is why to me it looks a bit cartoony. I think I should have just made the whole eye black instead of showing the whites of the eyes. This monoprint is made using a brayer, and I have trouble making fine … Read More

More elephants!

August 3, 2012New art work

Here’s yet another etching of elephants. This is actually two plates pushed together to make one image.

Elephant Prints

July 28, 2012New art work

I’m taking Bruce Waldman’s etching class this summer, doing a series of etching of the Museum of Natural History dioramas which I will post in the next couple of weeks. So far I have been using a lot of aquatint to shade my etching, but I’ve become frustrated with aquatint since it keeps getting fainter … Read More

The Ordovician and the Silurian: work in progress

July 23, 2012New art work

I haven’t posted any new work in a while, so I thought I should post a work in progress. I’ll probably only end up making one book this summer because I ended up using this time to reprint some previous books. It’s the sequel to “The Cambrian”: the Ordovician and Silurian. I originally planned on … Read More
