I finished a new illustration of a boy wrestling/ hugging a bear. I originally wanted the picture to be unambiguous and show the boy and bear play fighting. But then some people to whom I showed preliminary sketches thought it was a dangerous situation for the boy, so i toned it down and it seems more like the boy is hugging the bear. I did give the composition a dynamic angle so it wouldn’t look too “cuddly”.
From left to right: some sketches, middle is my digital separation, and left is the final piece.

When it was time to actually silkscreen the piece (5 colors/separations by the way), I didn’t look at my digital file to match the colors exactly. I mixed the colors from memory, which is why there’s a red shift from the digital file to the print.
