Here’s Andy Rooney on public art. I’ve often disagreed with what he’s had to say because he was clearly senile. Here I agree with him, except I have a sense of humor so weird public sculptures amuse me. We should put all weird sculptures in one park and call it “Wackyland”. Why has nobody ever thought of doing a surrealist theme park?
Which reminds me of the spinning airplane at the Central Park entrance…I would have transformed that into a ride and called it “the Plane crash simulator”. I think as a ride it would be 100x more engaging and interesting
